In the beginning, the presentation develops an electrical and thermal model for a six pack IGBT module operating as a three phase voltage source inverter. An impedance matrix model directly related to the location of the power modules is developed. With the proposed method, the temperature prediction accuracy can be largely increased. After that, an analysis is made to calculate the mean time to failure (MTTF) of the IGBT bond-wires under various conditions. It was concluded that the MTTF of the inverter might be very short under some conditions, thus it is mandatory to size the drive properly to avoid earlier failures.');
specialEvent[wk] +=
specialEventHead('DR. As these devices can communicate with one another, the combined capabilities can be leveraged to form a useful new set of tools. Presently, pervasive computing is being extended into the sophisticated healthcare sector with the promise of providing an easier and more efficient mode of communication among healthcare professionals. In this talk, we will present our ‘Healthcare Aide’ and ‘Wellness assistant’ project."
   + "<p>‘Healthcare Aide’ has been designed to provide not only more convenience for doctor-doctor, resident doctor-doctor, patient-doctor and nurse-doctor interaction but also a smooth pathway for real-time decision making along with survey results from users’ point view and performance analysis. The number of people over age 65 will almost double by 2030 and as they age, they generally prefer to remain in their home or go to a nursing home. There are a variety of reasons for their decision, such as convenience or a need for security or privacy. Despite growing requests by people to be able to take a more active part in managing their own health, wireless or internet-based healthcare devices have not been accepted for use in this area. This is probably due to the reluctance of this age group to make use of new technology, as well as the lack of reliable, individualized, or user friendly interfaces. In ‘Wellness Assistant (WA)' project, we address the above challenges. "
   + "The Assistant will use pervasive computing technologies because of the availability of inexpensive handheld devices such as PDAs, cell phones, and wrist watches with short range wireless capabilities. The WA can also be used by people with obesity, diabetes, or high blood pressure, conditions which need constant monitoring.   Our pervasive middleware MARKS (Middleware Adaptability for Resource Discovery, Knowledge Usability and Self-healing) provides the underlying support for ‘Healthcare Aide’ and Wellness Assistant in a completely transparent manner. The equipment for measuring MEE directly can be prohibitively expensive in some clinical settings and may not be useful for the child with severe developmental disabilities.  An approach for estimating MEE based on data already collected during the gait analysis process was investigated.  Several methods were used to determine base metabolic rate, mechanical work rate (MW), and cocontraction during walking.  These variables along with the measured MEE were collected from 29 children with spastic cerebral palsy.  Data from 19 of the children were used to develop a regression equation for estimating MEE.  Data from the remaining 10 children were used to cross validate the equation.  The most accurate equation developed was: WMR=1.20RMR+1.24W+39.73, where WMR is the walking metabolic rate (J/s), RMR is the resting metabolic rate (RMR), and W is the mechanical work rate calculated from the changes in segmental energies allowing the transfer of energy within and between segments.  The root mean square error form the cross validation of this equation was 39.9 J/s.  This corresponds to a relative absolute error 12 percent.  It was concluded that this equation may be useful in settings in which it is not possible to measure MEE directly.');

// document.write('<p>In 08Scourse.js</p>\n');
