Local Community Involvement

In our local Marquette campus and surrounding Milwaukee community, our chapter annually participates in Al's Run, Hunger Clean-up, and Relay for Life. We also tutor at Notre Dame Middle School in their after-school graduate program, reaching out as teachers and mentors to young women.

"Dress for Success promotes the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a network of support and the career development tools to help women thrive in work and in life. Dress for Success has provided suits to over 500,000 women since its foundation in 1997. Women who succeed in landing a job are then invited to participate in the Professional Women’s Group (PWG), which is the Dress for Success career development and networking group. PWG members meet monthly, free of charge, to hear expert leaders speak on a variety of topics including financial literary, unwritten rules of the workplace and many others. Members also network with one another and share their experiences of recently entering the workforce.

Dress for Success was an ideal candidate for Alpha Omega Epsilon to support as we promote professionalism in all of our members, the community, and our professions. One fundamental way to promote professionalism is to provide all women with professional attire. In addition, the activities of the Professional Women’s Group is very similar to the activities that are held at our Chapters to prepare our membership for job interviews. Last, Dress for Success is an international organization with many affiliates in the same city as many of our Chapters." - International Alpha Omega Epsilon Newsflash
