Biographical Sketch
Professor Mark Nagurka received his B.S. and M.S. in Mechanical Engineering and Applied Mechanics from the University of Pennsylvania (Philadelphia, PA) in 1978 and 1979, respectively, and a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from M.I.T. (Cambridge, MA) in 1983. He taught at Carnegie Mellon University (Pittsburgh, PA) from 1983-1994, was a Senior Research Engineer at the Carnegie Mellon Research Institute (Pittsburgh, PA) from 1994-1996,
and in 1996 joined Marquette University (Milwaukee, WI) where he is an Associate Professor of Mechanical and Biomedical Engineering. Professor Nagurka is a registered Professional Engineer in Wisconsin and Pennsylvania, a Fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), and a former Fulbright Scholar at The Weizmann Institute of Science (Israel). His research interests include mechatronics, automation, control system design, human/machine interaction, and vehicle dynamics.
He is an avid
photographer, traveler, and ham radio operator.
