Dr. Mark L. Nagurka - Seminars and Conferences

Biographical Sketch

Professor Mark Nagurka received his B.S. and M.S. in Mechanical Engineering and Applied Mechanics from the University of Pennsylvania (Philadelphia, PA) in 1978 and 1979, respectively, and a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from M.I.T. (Cambridge, MA) in 1983. He taught at Carnegie Mellon University (Pittsburgh, PA) from 1983-1994, was a Senior Research Engineer at the Carnegie Mellon Research Institute (Pittsburgh, PA) from 1994-1996, and in 1996 joined Marquette University (Milwaukee, WI) where he is an Associate Professor of Mechanical and Biomedical Engineering. Professor Nagurka is a registered Professional Engineer in Wisconsin and Pennsylvania, a Fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), and a former Fulbright Scholar. His research interests include design of mechanical and electromechanical systems, design of control systems, mechatronics, automation, human/machine interaction, and vehicle dynamics.

He is an avid photographer, traveler, and ham radio operator.
