Biographical Sketch
Professor Mark Nagurka received his B.S. and M.S. in Mechanical Engineering and Applied Mechanics from the University of Pennsylvania in 1978 and 1979, respectively, and a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from M.I.T. in 1983. He taught at Carnegie Mellon University from 1983-1996
and served as Senior Research Engineer at Carnegie Mellon Research Institute from 1994-1996.
He joined Marquette University in 1996 as an Associate Professor of Mechanical and Biomedical Engineering
and served as Director of the Machine Design Laboratory and the Fluid Power & Mechatronics Research Laboratory. Professor Nagurka is a Professional Engineer, a Fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME),
and a former Fulbright Scholar. He is a passionate and innovative
engineering educator with research interests in the design, dynamics,
and control of mechanical and electromechanical systems.
