Course, Training, and Curriculum Development

The Electric Machine and Drives Laboratory (EMDLab) at Marquette University has held between 2011 and 2012 three joint training courses for engineers from various industries, in cooperation with ANSYS Corporation, which is one of the leading and largest world-wide engineering software developers and marketers headquartered in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The subjects of these three training courses were “Optimal Design and Simulation of Brushless PM Machines and Drives,” ‘’Power Electronics and Renewable Energy Design,’’ and ‘’Optimal Design, Condition Monitoring and Fault Tolerance of Electric Machines and Drives.” Participants were geographically wide ranging from both regional and national companies. Such courses provided an excellent outreach service and promoted the investigators’ research activities not only at the regional level but also at the national level.
